KAPURTHALA:The Rail Coach Factory (RCF) here will roll out the first rake of luxury coaches capable of running at 200 kmph on May 10.

Officials said the first rake of Tejas Express will start playing between Mumbai and Goa and another train might be started for Delhi-Chandigarh and SuratMumbai route.

“There are 16 non-executive chair cars, which can accommodate 78 passengers each while two executive chair cars will have a seating capacity of 56 passengers,” said a spokesperson of the RCF.

“Offering airline-like comfort, each seat has an attendant call facility and the bell is integrated with the reading light. The executive chair car seats have adjustable headrest and arm support facilities. The non-executive chair car doesn’t have a facility of leg support,” said RCF general manager RP Nibariya.

In these automatic trains, the orange and yellow exterior designs are graffiti proof. The coach will be offering passengers airplane-like facilities, including Wi-Fi, star chefs-chosen menu, LCD screens on individual seats, energy-efficient LED lights and redesigned seats with e-leather.

The trains will have bio-vacuum toilets, which will also have soap dispensers, odour control system, water taps with sensors, occupancy indicators among other facilities.

Meanwhile, Tejas coaches have stainless steel discs that will provide a more efficient braking system.
