Portuguese companies keen to invest in Haryana
CHANDIGARH: Joao da Camara, Portugal’s ambassador to India, called on Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar here on Monday appreciated the pace of development in Haryana.
Stating that various Portuguese companies were keen on making investment in Haryana, he said that exchange of investments between Portugal and Haryana will go a long way in further strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The chief minister welcomed the offer made by Camara and assured him support and cooperation of the state government in facilitating the companies of Portugal in setting up units in Haryana.
The CM directed the officers of the state government to remain in touch with the Portuguese authorities in Delhi and sought a list of companies that wanted to invest in Haryana so that further dialogue could be initiated.
Khattar said that Haryana which surrounds Delhi from three sides has huge scope of investment in the fields of infrastructure, medical education, information technology (IT), skill development, aerospace and agro-processing.
Apart from this, Asia’s biggest vegetable and fruit market is being developed over about 600 acres of land in Ganaur town of Sonepat district.
Apart from Haryana, this market will also cater to the need of national capital Delhi, he added.
