Prepare combined merit list: HC to Haryana
PETITIONER CLAIMED PREFERENCE WAS BEING GIVEN TO THOSE WHO HAD CLEARED HTET IN 2011
The Punjab and Haryana high court on Monday asked the Haryana government to prepare a combined merit list of Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test (HTET) conducted in the years 2011 and 2013 and make appointments accordingly against the 9,000 odd posts for which high court gave its nod last month.
The high court bench of justice Surya Kant and justice Sudip Ahluwalia was hearing a petition moved by one Naveen Kumar pleading that appointments should not be made without completing due verification.
It was also claimed that earlier a combined merit list of those who had cleared HTET in 2011 and 2013 was being prepared but now those who had cleared HTET in 2011 were being given preference over others in appointments.
The high court bench said that a combined list be made and appointments made accordingly but only against the advertised 9, 000 posts.
Further as per last order state can’t make appointments against 50 odd posts about which there is dispute. Detailed order is awaited.
The recruitment process for these posts had started in the tenure of former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in 2012.
The result was declared by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) in September 2014.
Due to litigation on various counts, the government has failed in making appointments so far.
