Raid at Gurdaspur civil hospital finds 15 doctors absent from duty

As many as 69 officers, including senior medical officer and 14 other doctors, of the total 84 employees, were found absent from duty at the Gurdaspur civil hospital.

The employee were found absent during a surprise raid conducted by additional deputy commission­er (developmen­t) Jagwinderj­it Singh Grewal on Thursday.

During the raid, senior medical officer Vijay Kumar, dentist Lokesh Kumar Gupta, DrChetna, Dr Jyoti Mahajan, Dr Kusum, Dr Manjinder Singh, Dr Deepak Sahota, Dr Kamaldeep, Dr Manjit Singh, Dr Ajayeshwar Mahant, Dr Puja Khosla, Dr Sushil Kumar, Dr Harpreet Kaur, Dr Rajesh Lakhanpal, matron Lakhwinder Kaur, nursing sister Pankesh Kumari, staff nurses Varinder Kaur, Shaminder Kaur, Kanwaljit Kaur, Balwinder Kaur, Sarbjit Kaur, Rani Devi, Amandeep Kaur, Manjit Kaur, Harpreet Kaur were found to be absent from duty for the past eight days. Many other employees were found to be absent from duty during the raid.

Similar raids were conducted at rural dispensari­es in Sohal and Jaffarwal village.

Pharmacist Harvinder Singh was found absent from duty at Sohal rural dispensary.

The rural dispensary at Jaffarwal was locked and pharmacist Inder Dev was absent.

During the raid at the municipal council, Gurdaspur clerk Sanjeev Kumar, JE Harpreet Singh and Class 4 employee Sandip Singh were found absent from duty.
