GURGAON: As if running away with her money wasn’t enough, a father and his two sons have now allegedly resorted to molesting, abusing and threatening a 43-year-old businesswoman living in an upscale colony on Gurgaon-Faridabad Road.

“I have been receiving calls and texts in the middle of the night. The caller would say, ‘are you alone? Can I come?.’ When I would shout back, they hang up. It is sickening. They were my neighbours once and I did business with them,” the woman told HT. She said the harassment doesn’t stop there.

“Prashant Bhosle, his brother Deepak, and their father DK Bhosle, used to initially call from their own numbers, but have recently switched to calling and texting from different numbers, including that of their driver, Pranjal Vijay Joshi. They have been abusing me and my partner since May 11,” she said.

The 43-year-old said that the three accused have even started threatening her.

“They say that they will put my fake videos and audios online. These days, it’s very easy to superimpose someone’s face on another and release offensive videos,” she said.

“My image, my family’s honour is at stake,” the woman said.

The harassment started a few months ago after the woman and her partner came in contact with the Bhosles.

“We met them through a common friend. We signed a deal and paid them ₹35 lakh in advance. They were also our neighbours since February, so we even trusted them. But they ran away with the money and started threatening us,” she alleged.

The three accused have also been trying to defame her and her company by creating fake email ids and posting vulgar messages, she claimed.

She approached the local police station in May after she received the first call. But the police took no action, she claimed. “I have been continuously pressing them (police), but no action has been taken. It was only after I registered my complaint at the commissioner’s office that they were prodded to act. The investigation now seems to be progressing well,” she said.

An FIR in the case was filed on Friday under IPC sections 354D and 506. She will record her statement before a magistrate on Monday. Rajbala, the head constable of the women’s police station in Sector 51 said the three neighbours are absconding and efforts are on to catch them at the earliest.
