Mata Gujri College has been a torch bearer for all Institutions of higher education of the region. It has been the first college in North India to have been conferred Autonomous Status by University Grants Commission. Located in the holy city of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, the college boasts of a lush green campus, spread over 25 acres, which provides a serene academic environment to the students. Bibi Gurbachan Kaur Mann, a philanthropist with a mission to educate and empower the rural youth, started this college in 1957. Little did she realise that her humble beginning would turn to be a premier institute that would gain national and international accolades. Later in 1964, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), Sri Amritsar took the responsibility to take this mission to new heights.
