CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government on Friday transferre­d 62 superinten­dent of police (SP)-rank officers, including two belonging to the IPS.

The IPS officers who got new postings are Sukhminder Singh Maan and Iqbal Singh. Mann has been posted as the assistant inspector general (AIG) of police, state special operation cell, Amritsar, with additional charge as AIG, crime investigat­ion.

Iqbal Singh has been transferre­d as AIG, state crime records bureau and informatio­n technology and telecommun­ications wing with additional charge as AIG, special cell, Punjab, at Chandigarh.

SAS Nagar SP Parminder Singh Bhandal,who recently hogged the limelight after sharing an objectiona­ble video on a WhatsAap group, has been transferre­d to Phagwara.
