Health dept challans 16 for smoking in public

KAPURTHALA : The health department issued 16 challans to violators for smoking at prohibited public areas. They had also issued a preliminary warning to vendors and local residents to not smoke in public, under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 (COTPA). The department issued only 220 challans for smoking in public in last five months.
