HARYANA FARMERS HAPPIER THAN OTHER STATES, SAYS CM
KARNAL: Haryana chief minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that farmers of Haryana are happier than those in other states as the present government has taken several initiatives for farmers.
The CM who was talking to mediapersons at Kaithal, claimed that the present government is working to improve the financial condition of farmers. Besides a good marketing system, the government is also providing interest-free loans to farmers. He also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the goods and services tax (GST) and said that it will help in bringing transparency in the trading system and will also give a boost to revenue.
However, the CM admitted that out of total 3,500 announcements made by him in the past two and half year's rule, only 50 per cent of the announcements have been completed so far.
During BJP rule in Haryana, more than 30,000 government appointments have been made on merit basis with full transparency, added the CM. During his two-day visit to Kaithal, Khattar inaugurated and laid foundation stones of two 33 KV power substations and drinking water and sewerage projects. “It is because of the good policies of the government that farmers are getting enough supply of fertilisers, whereas they had to face police fury during the previous government,” he added. Later addressing a gathering, he said that he had joined politics to “serve and not to enjoy the luxury”. “I belong to people of the state not only to a political party. The society is like my family and people are ambassadors of my team,” he added. Khattar also inspected the newly set up modern revenue archives in mini-secretariat at Kaithal and said that the such archives will be set up in every district to keep a record of the revenue department.
