Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday said the state government has succeeded in keeping a check on corruption and nepotism that prevailed in the state during the regime of the previous Congress government, especially for providing government jobs and ensuring benefits of welfare schemes.

Presiding over a meeting of 22 newly inducted chief minister’s good governance associates (CMGGAs), Khattar said the state government has introduced the CMGGA programme last year to assist the government in ensuring speedy and effective implementation of its flagship schemes.

The new CMGGAs would join their respective districts on July 16. Congratulating the CMGGAs, he said that the state government was working to bridge the gap between the people and the government.

He also gave away certificates to CMGGAs who had completed one year of their service. Apart from this, certificates were also presented to five CMGGAs for their outstanding performance in the particular fields and to three other associates for overall best performance.

A ‘Year Book’ compiled by the CMGGAs was also released by the CM.

Speaking on this occasion, additional principal secretary to chief minister Rakesh Gupta said that efforts were being made to make the services of all the departments online within next eight to ten months, so that people could get the benefit of various services by sitting at their home.

He said that the services of about 10 departments would be made totally online by December 25, this year.

A presentation was also made to highlight the initiatives taken by the CMGGAs during last year in fields like transport, police, women and child development, health, water conservation in rural areas and stray cattle management.

It was also informed in the meeting that with a view to preventing road accidents due to stray cattle, an action plan had been prepared with the help of CMGGAs.

While districts of Fatehabad , Nuh and Yamunangar had already been made free from the menace of stray cattle, the entire state would become a stray cattle free by August 15.
