I am not objecting to my party voting for her.But I will neither vote for her nor any other candidate in the Presidential elections. HS PHOOLKA, former opposition leader

AMRITSAR: Even as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to vote for Congress candidate Meira Kumar in the coming Presidential elections, senior AAP leader and former opposition leader in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, HS Phoolka, said that he will not vote for the Congress candidate.

Phoolka, who was in Amritsar on Saturday, said, “Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to vote for Meira Kumar in Presidential elections and I also respect her.”

“She is a good person and a good leader but I will not vote for her as she is from Congress.” the former opposition leader added.

Phoolka is fighting since long for justice in the 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases. He said, “If I vote for a Congress candidate, it will be seen as the Sikh community has forgiven the Congress. Sikh community can never forgive them.”

He said that many people allegedly involved in riots are still in Congress so how can he vote for their candidate.

He said, “I am not objecting to my party voting for her.But I will neither vote for her nor any other candidate.”

Notably, Phoolka had recently resigned as opposition leader to continue fighting for the anti-Sikh riot cases.
