Three arrested for manhandlin­g policeman

BATHINDA: Police have booked three persons of a family living in Nar Singh Colony under Sangat police station for allegedly manhandlin­g a policeman on duty. ASI Jagsir Singh had gone to carry out investigat­ion into a complaint filed against the family regarding drainage dispute when the family members allegedly tore his shirt. The arrested have been identified as Hemraj, his wife Pushpa Rani and daughterin-law Santosh Kumari. A case under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 186 (obstructin­g public servant in discharge of his duty) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtheranc­e of common intention) of the IPC has been registered.
