15 travel agents working without licence booked

MOGA: The district police on Monday booked at least 15 citybased travel agents, ticketing agents and IELTS centre owners for working without licences — a violation of the Human Traffickin­g Prevention Act.

The move comes over a week after deputy commission­er (DC) Moga Dilraj Singh found the outlets working without licences.

On July 13, the DC wrote a letter to the senior superinten­dent of police (SSP) Moga Raj Jit Singh in this regard.

After investigat­ing the matter, police booked those found working without licences under Section 13 of the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act 2012.

Police officials said the investigat­ions are on and the accused will be arrested soon.

The accused have been identified as Ashwani Sharma of Azad Travelling, Kapil Singla of Royal Travel Advisors, Satpal Daudhar of SBY Enterprise­s, Rajinder Singh of Akbar Travel Agent, Sarabjit Singh of Blue Bird, Nirbhay Singh of Punjab Travels, Lovejit Singh of City Academy, Sukhwinder Singh of Green World Travel Agency, Nirbhay Singh of Sahara Enterprise­s Bhatti Travels, Jassal Travels, Ankit Gautam of Swagat Travels, Gurpreet Singh Goldy of Prime Sink immigratio­n, Ashish Beri of Gurnur Global, Rupinder Singh of Dhunna Overseas and Education and Gurdhir Singh of NRI Singh Brothers.
