Man plays ‘cash’ card, flees with ₹42L from ATM
HARIDWAR: In a sensational incident, an unidentified man and his three accomplices tricked an ATM cash loader to scoot away with ₹42 lakh on Tuesday.
The incident occurred when the private firm agency cash handler personnel was about to refill the ATM machine of a private bank with ₹87 lakh cash brought in two bags.
Cash handler Sunil of Dehradun-based private firm Service India Private Limited and security guards Manoj and Varun had reached the ATM in a cash van at Chandracharya Chowk.
Sunil placed one of the cash bags inside the booth to refill the machine.
In the meantime, an outsider entered the ATM for cash transaction and fooled Sunil by telling that some currency notes were scattered behind the ATM.
As soon as Sunil backed out, the man picked up the ₹42 lakh cash bag, rushed out and fled with three other accomplices who were waiting outside in two motorcycles.
