NAIDU GETS EMOTIONAL

-

NEWDELHI: NDA’s vice presidential candidate M Venakaiah Naidu got ‘very emotional’ at the BJP’s parliamentary board meeting last evening when top BJP leaders met to announce his candidature. “BJP has been like my mother,” Naidu said at the meeting. “It is painful to leave the mother.” Tears rolled down Naidu’s cheek as he spoke about his association with the BJP with a lump in his throat. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley consoled Naidu. The 68-year-old said he had planned to retire and take up social service after Narendra Modi’s return to power in 2019. “But, destiny decided otherwise,” he said.
