Popular Assamese actress found dead in Gurgaon flat
GURGAON: Popular Assamese actor and singer Bidisha Bezbaru ah, who also featured in aBihu dance in the movie JaggaJa so os, was found dead in her flat in Sus hant A part men ts, Sector 43 in Gurgaon on Monday night.
The police arrested her husband, Nisheeth Jha, on Tuesday evening after Bid is ha’ s father, Dr Aswini Bezbaruah, registered a case under section 306( a bet ment to suicide) at the Sushant Lok police station.
Bid is ha ,26, whose family lives in Guwahati’s Uzan Bazar, had married Jha last year and the couple reportedly did not have a cordial relationship. Jha was in Mumbai at the time of the incident and flew to Gurgaon late Monday night.
Sushant Lok Station House Officer Gaurav Phogat told HT that the police received a call from an apartment resident at around 8 pm on Monday. The police found Bidisha hanging from the ceiling fan. The singer’s family reached Gurga on on Monday night.
In his complaint, Bidisha’s father alleged that Jha had been harassing and threatening her. He claimed that Bidisha was upset and it prompted her to take the extreme step, G ur ga on police PRO Ravinder Kumar said.
Her fans wrote condolence messages on social media websites. Assam CM Sarbanda Sonowal, in a tweet, said that he has talked to his Haryana counterpart ML Khattar and ‘requested him to call an investigation into the unfortunate death of a girl from Assam in Gurugram’(sic).
Bidisha was known for the play, Xanto Xixto Histo Pusto Moha Dusto.
