Unemployed Mewat youth to help overcome shortage of teachers
CHANDIGARH: Unemployed graduate sand Junior Basic Teacher (JBT) certificate-holders in Mewat will be brought under the ambit of ‘Saksham Yuva Scheme’ to help overcome the shortage of teachers in government schools and to make adequate arrangements for the students, especially the girls.
Under the scheme, eligible unemployed youths will be deployed for honorary assignments for 100 hours in a month and will be paid honorarium.
Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar made this announce- ment while presiding over a meeting of the Mewat Development Board on Friday.
Khattar said services of these unemployed youths will be utilised for imparting quality education to the students in Mewat.
Finance minister Capt Abhimanyu, agriculture minister OP Dhankar and minister of state for cooperation Manish Kumar Grover also attended the meeting.
The meeting approved an outlay of Rs 35 crore for the Mewat Development Agency for 2017-18.
The CM also told the board members to motivate the schools of Mewat to adopt sports nurseries. He also directed the sports department to make available all facilities in sports stadia in the area.
FAKE HEAVY VEHICLE LICENCES
The chief minister issued directions that a committee should be constituted under the chairmanship of principal secretary Rajesh Khullar to find a permanent solution to the problem of fake heavy vehicle driving licences in the Mewat region.
The other members in the committee will be commissioner Gurugram division, transport commissioner and deputy commissioner, Nuh. The committee will file its report within a week.
