Unemployed Mewat youth to help overcome shortage of teachers

CHANDIGARH: Unemployed graduate sand Junior Basic Teacher (JBT) certificat­e-holders in Mewat will be brought under the ambit of ‘Saksham Yuva Scheme’ to help overcome the shortage of teachers in government schools and to make adequate arrangemen­ts for the students, especially the girls.

Under the scheme, eligible unemployed youths will be deployed for honorary assignment­s for 100 hours in a month and will be paid honorarium.

Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar made this announce- ment while presiding over a meeting of the Mewat Developmen­t Board on Friday.

Khattar said services of these unemployed youths will be utilised for imparting quality education to the students in Mewat.

Finance minister Capt Abhimanyu, agricultur­e minister OP Dhankar and minister of state for cooperatio­n Manish Kumar Grover also attended the meeting.

The meeting approved an outlay of Rs 35 crore for the Mewat Developmen­t Agency for 2017-18.

The CM also told the board members to motivate the schools of Mewat to adopt sports nurseries. He also directed the sports department to make available all facilities in sports stadia in the area.

FAKE HEAVY VEHICLE LICENCES

The chief minister issued directions that a committee should be constitute­d under the chairmansh­ip of principal secretary Rajesh Khullar to find a permanent solution to the problem of fake heavy vehicle driving licences in the Mewat region.

The other members in the committee will be commission­er Gurugram division, transport commission­er and deputy commission­er, Nuh. The committee will file its report within a week.
