3 robbers nabbed; mobiles, bikes recovered
PHAGWARA: The Phagwara police arrested three robbers and recovered stolen mobiles, motorbikes and looted cash from their possession at a naka here on Friday.
The accused have been identified as Jaspal Singh (27), Harwinder Singh (25) and Gagandeep Singh (28), all residents of Majara Dhingra village in Phagwara.
Phagwara superintendent of police (SP) Parminder Singh while addressing a press conference said that the four accused had burgled a shop in Pashta village here and stole about 15 mobiles from the shop, on June 12, 2017.
Parminder said that the three accused were nabbed during a routine checking at a naka deployed in the city.
The Phagwara superintendent of police said that one Jatinder Kumar managed to flee from the spot during the check.
The Phagwara superintendent of police said that during the interrogation, accused confessed to their crime and revealed about the recent crimes they had committed in the area.
The three accused had stolen a rasoi gas cylinder from a government school last month, ₹1.5 lakh from a house and two motorcycles from local residents in the recent months.
Police said that they have recovered the looted cash, mobile phones and motorcycles from their possession.
They added that a case under Sections 457 (lurking housetrespass) 380 (theft) and 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) has been registered against the three.
