Three killed, 8 injured as jeep collides with speeding truck

HISAR : Three persons killed and eight received injuries in a road accident near Ugalan village under Narnond tehsil of Hisar district on Monday night in a head-on collision between a speeding truck and jeep.

The deceased has been identified as Manisha, 24, her threeyear-old daughter Lakshita and the jeep driver Dinesh Kumar.

An eyewitness Shamsher Singh of Gangwa village said, “The truck was too fast and the driver lost control over it on a sharp turn and collided with the jeep coming from the opposite side.” Police took the bodies in their custody and sent them for postmortem to the Jind general hospital. The deceased and the injured were said to be the members of a family.

Police said the family of Ram M eh ar of Ros han K her a village in Narnond had gone to Kurar vil- la ge in Kai th alto mo urn their relative’s death.

The truck driver fled from the spot. Police have registered a case under and started probe into the case. The injured, identified as Lakshu, Om Pati, Shanti Devi, German Singh, Sultan, Ram M eh ar, J as want and Sh anti De vi, had been referred to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science (PGIMS) at Rohtak.
