Accused arrested

SANGRUR: The Dirba police arrested assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Didar Singh here on Tuesday.The ASI was booked for hurting religious sentiments on the complaint of a Sikh baptised woman.The victim had stated that the accused cop in an inebriated condition had allegedly pulled her by the arm and asked her to sit beside him in a bus on Friday evening.

“Police teams had conducted raids to arrest the accused. He was nabbed from Lad ban jar a village. The accused will be produced in court on Wednesday ,” said deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Dirba Yogesh Kumar. The video of a youth beating up the ASI aboard a bus had gone viral. HTC
