GST: WHERE IS THE RELIEF?

GST has proved to be neither good nor simple. Rate slabs have been set far too high to be of relief to the common man. No per ce p ti- ble difference has been seen in lives of farmers as well, who continue to protest, just to eke out a living. The only good thing about GST seems to be that it will fill government coffers or may be the BJP’s election funds for 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Ironically, in these polls, the GST will be touted as an achievement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prakash Hanspaul
