CBSE RELEASES NET NOTIFICATI­ON, EXAM TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 5

New Delhi The Central Board of Secondary Education released the notificati­on for the National Eligibilit­y Test( NET) to be held in November on July 24. Candidates must apply online from August 1 to 30 while the last date to make the payment is August 31. The test will be held on November 5.

The NET is generally held twice a year in July and December but since the exam was not held in July this year CBSE will hold it in November. The last NET was conducted in January 2017. This will be the first time the test will be conducted after the change in pattern as this year 6% of the total candidates will be declared qualified.

The test which is conducted to determine the eligibilit­y of assistant professor and junior/senior research fellowship will be conducted in 84 subjects across 90 exam centres in the country.

Those who have secured at least 55% marks in a Master’ s programme or equivalent examinatio­n from universiti­es/ institutio­ns recognised by University Grants Commission are eligible to take the test. Those who have appeared or will appear in the qualifying degree’s final year examinatio­n and whose result is still awaited may also appear for the test.
