SAD readying list of ‘Cong-friendly’ officials

BATALA (QADAIN): On the second day of the jabar virodhi lehar, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president and former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal lashed out at Congress MLAs for implicating Akali workers in fake cases.

Holding a meeting at the residence of former sarpanch of Nathpur village Malkait Singh, Sukhbir said he had asked district SAD president Sucha Singh Langha and other former MLAs to prepare a list of officials who were acting at the behest of Congress legislators and were registering false cases against Akali workers.

“In Dera Baba Nanak and Qadian Vidhan Sabha seats, police are registering false cases against Akali workers to appease their political masters,” he said.

“More than 50 SAD workers were implicated in fake cases only in Der a Bab a Nanak constituency. We are going to file PIL, demanding a CBI inquiry,” said

Sukhbir.

Dera Baba Nanak Congress MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said: “I challenge Sukhbir to bring on record even a single case in my constituency where SAD workers have been victimised.”
