Sirsa woman alleges gangrape at behest of her husband

VICTIM THROWN NEAR DABWALI HOSPITAL AFTER CRIME; WOMAN SAYS HER INLAWS WERE PRESSURING HER TO FILE DIVORCE

HISAR : Three unidentifi­ed men allegedly abducted and gangraped a woman at her husband’s behest and threw her naked in front of the local general hospital in Dabwali sub-division of Sirsa district on late Friday night.

The accused fled from the spot after committing the crime. No arrest has been made so far, police spokespers­on Surjeet Singh said.

“According to the police complaint, the victim, who is 29-year-old, said her husband, mother-in-law and sister-in-law were pressurisi­ng her for divorce for the last few months,” Surjeet Singh said.

“In her complaint, the victim alleged when she refused to divorce her husband, he called his three friends who are unknown to her. They first kidnapped her, dragged her to a nearby fields and gangraped her at gunpoint,” the police spokespers­on said.

“Later, the accused dragged her inside a car and threw her naked in front of the Dabwali hospital and fled from the spot,” Singh said.

Sources said the staff nurse on night duty put cloths on her and admitted the woman. A team of legal experts and women police approached the victim on Saturday, recorded her statement and sent her for medical examinatio­n.

Dabwali police station station house officer (SHO) Ram Niwas said, “A case was registered under Section 365 (abduction), 376-D (gangrape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under sections of the Arms Act against three unidentifi­ed men.”

“We have also registered a case against the victim’s husband, mother-in-law and sisterin-law for hatching a criminal conspiracy. We have formed teams to nab the accused. Further investigat­ions are on in the case,” the station station house officer informed.
