Sukhbir asks Akalis to gherao police stations

BABBEHALI/CHANDIGARH : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president and former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal gave a clarion call to his party workers to “gherao” police stations where “false” cases have been registered against SAD workers.

Addressing a party rally under “Jabar Virodhi Lehar” at Babbehali, 5km from Gurdaspur on Tuesday, Sukhbir said the Congress government led by Captain Amarinder Singh has stooped low in perpetrating atrocities on SAD workers.

GOVT IMPLICATING SAD WORKERS: BADAL

Former chief minister and SAD patriarch Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday accused the Congress-led government in Punjab of implicating Akali workers in false cases and said the party “will not allow any injustice” to happen to its workers.

“Today, I met a dozen such workers,” Badal said.

“We have formed a committee of advocates and will provide legal help to party workers,” the former CM said.
