CM WARNS SUKHBIR AGAINST THREATENING OFFICERS
CHANDIGARH: Reacting strongly to Sukhbir’s reported threat to officers who he claimed were registering false cases against SAD workers at the behest of their “Congress masters”, Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder said his government did not believe in vindictive action but was following democratic norms.
Reacting to Sukhbir’s launch of ‘Jabar Virodhi Lehar’ (anti-force wave), Amarinder said use of force had been a way of functioning for the Badal government.
On allegations that his government or its officers were filing false cases against the Akalis, Amarinder said . “Our government has constituted a Commission to get all such cases probed. Even though we have enough evidence against several Akali leaders and workers, my government would wait for the inquiry commission to submit its report. Sukhbir and other Akali leaders are spreading disinformation,” he added.
He directed officials, both police and administration, to work without fear and assured them of full backing of his government in all legitimate decisions.
