Punjab conman arrested in Uttarakhan­d

NEWTEHRI: A man, who had allegedly duped wholesale traders of Jalandhar sabzi mandi of Rs 60 lakh, was on Tuesday arrested here and Rs 1.17 lakh recovered from his possession. Raj Kumar was on the run for the past two months and was finally nabbed by a team of Punjab Police in cooperatio­n with local police, Tehri SSP Vimla Gunjyal said. Kumar was living with his family at a rented accommodat­ion here for the past two months. Rs 1.17 lakh in cash have also been recovered from the room where he was staying, she said, adding that the accused has been taken to Punjab.
