PRACTICE AUSTERITY

Pranab Mukherjee recently demitted the office of the President of India and has shifted to another lavish bungalow in Delhi. He will also have the staff, security and paraphernalia in line with his stature. While he might deserve it, the question is that somebody needs to set a benchmark of austerity for the common man. Our politicians are salaried personnel, but still make sure they avail all free services till their last breath. Mukherjee must set a benchmark and move to his parental home leaving behind all the facilities which he is availing. DS Thukral, Ambala
