No link between kid’s suicide and challenge: Police

-

MUMBAI:The police team, which is probing the suicide of the 14-year-old boy from Andheri (East), said they have sent his mobile phone to the state forensic science laboratory (FSL) to find out if he had deleted anything from the phone. So far, the police have not found anything linking the suicide to the Blue Whale challenge.

The police recorded the statements of his parents for an hour on Monday night, who said they don’t have any information on why he took the step.

They said he wanted to become a pilot and would play with his friends from the building, but never went out on his own.

He was always accompanied by his family members, the police said. On Tuesday, a police team recorded the statements of his friends in school with whom he had shared information about committing suicide. HTC
