UGC NET exam on Nov 5
The Central Board of Secondary Education will issue the detailed notification for the University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2017 examination on August 4, 2017.
According to a notification issued on official website for the exam, cbsenet.nic.in, the National Eligibility Test will be conducted on November 5 this year. The application process starts on August 11 and the last date for applying online is September 11, while the fee can be paid until September 12. The CBSE has decided to use Aadhaar authentication for the applicants at the time of applying for the November examination. The examination is to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of assistant professor in Indian universities and colleges or for both Junior Research Fellowship and assistant professor. However, the July round has been skipped this year.
Candidates who qualify for the JRF are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible to apply for the post of an assistant professor in Indian universities and colleges. The award of JRF and eligibility for assistant professor’s post depends on the performance of the candidate in all the three papers of NET.
