Freedom fighter dies at 95

MUKTSAR: A freedom fighter, Mata Bachan Kaur, died at the age of 95 at Baloch Kera village in Muktsar on Wednesday morning. She was cremated with full state honours. She had spent nine months in jail for participating in a farmer agitation during British rule. Two sons and three daughters survive her. Her father, Tehal Singh, was jailed by the British govt for 20 years.
