Go door to door to highlight BJP feats: Shah to workers

MISSION ’19 BJP chief gets rousing welcome, says Khattar revolution­ising Haryana politics

ROHTAK: BJP national president Am it Shah on Wednesday asked party workers to strengthen what he called the “world’s largest democratic party” at the grassroots level and work for the mission-2019 with fresh zeal.

Shah, who is on a three-day visit to Rohtak to review preparatio­ns for the 2019 Lok Sab ha elections, presided over his first meeting of the day with district pres id en ts, zilama ha man tri sand office-bearers of the BJP, chairmen of boards and corporatio­ns, and state cabinet led by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Addressing the office-bearers, Shah stressed on launching intensive door-to-door campaigns to inform all sections of the society about schemes and policies initiated by the government in Centre and state.

He said the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Mo di has introduced 106 schemes in the country for youths, farmers, women and labourers. “We introduced a new scheme in every 15 days of our government for the welfare of the people. It is utmost important that these schemes reach their beneficiar­ies as well,” Shah said.

The BJP president was received with much fan fare in the state, right from the Delhi-Haryana border up to Tilyar Convention Centre in Rohtak, where he c haired his meetings for Wed n es- day. Thousands came on road to welcome Shah with flowers. CM Khattar and BJP state president Subhash Barala welcomed him with turban (pagdi). Agricultur­e minister OP Dhankar then welcomed him with a mace (gada).

Shah, who chaired several meetings, also took veiled attack at former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda. At his meeting with intellectu­als and eminent citizens, Shah praised K hat tar for trying to revolution­ise politics in the state. “Earlier, only relatives and close associates of the politician­s used to get jobs and plum posts. But Khattar government has brought transparen­cy in recruitmen­t sand transfers. He is doing a great job in keeping Ha ry- ana politics clean,” Shah said. The BJP chief will have lunch with a Dalit workers.

Tight security, using drone cameras, is being used by the police. The BJP has also prepared special traditiona­l food for Shah. Traditiona­l Teej dance and folk music programmes are also on the cards.
