Markfed felicitates Punjabi actors Jaswinder Bhalla and Binnu Dhillon
In a special gesture, Markfed felicitated Punjabi film actors Dr. Jaswinder Bhalla and Binnu Dhillon during their visit to the office headquarters here on Friday. Riding high on the success of their latest Punjabi film, Vekh Baraatan Challiyan, the actors renewed their long-standing association with Markfed with its chairperson, S. Amarjit Singh Samra congratulating the two on the film’s success, adding that he appreciated the film’s message against practising superstitions.
The actors’ work was also applauded by Sh. Arshdeep Singh Thind, IAS, M. D ., Markfed, who congratulated them on being appointed by the government of Punjab as brand ambassadors of Mission Swachh and Swasth Punjab. The mission is being run by the Department of Water Supply & Sanitation, Punjab. Sh. B al Muk and S harm a, executive di rector, Markfed, added that the actors had also agreed to the Punjab government’s request to create motivational films aimed at creating awareness to end open defecation in the state, a malpractice stemming out of old habits and a lack of access to toilets.
On the occasion, Dr. Bhalla talked about being a regular participant in the weekly TV and radio show, Saada Sohna Punjab, presented by Markfed every Saturday evening on DD Punjabi and All India Radio respectively. Binnu Dhillon, while speaking on the occasion, said that he was inspired by the popular comedy duo comprising Dr. Bhalla and Sh. Bal Mukand Sharma, whose famous production, Chhankata, was a brand name in itself, adding that their contribution to the entertainment of the Punjabi community had been immense.
