ROADROLLER CRUSHES BOY IN FREAK MISHAP

MOGA: A 12-year-old old boy, Pargat Singh, was crushed to death by a roadroller near Bughipura in Moga on Saturday when he went to pick up a ball from the road. Pargat was playing in a ground adjacent to the under-construction road where a roller was flattening the gravel. Eyewitnesses said neither Pargat nor the driver noticed when he was taking the ball, and the boy died on the spot. Gulzar Singh, assistant sub-inspector (ASI), said the driver fled from the spot, leaving the roadroller behind. Police were investigating the matter.
