AIJASS TO HOLD RALLY IN FATEHABAD ON AUG 14

HISAR: Two days after the Punjab and Haryana high court stayed the reservatio­n to Jats and five other communitie­s in Haryana, the All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) said it will hold a rally in Samain village of Fatehabad district on August 14 to discuss its future strategy.

Addressing mediaperso­ns here on Saturday, AIJASS state spokespers­on Ram Bhagat Malik said, “AIJASS national president Yashpal Malik will address the rally. We will also discuss our strategy in view of the high court’s stay order on reservatio­n to Jats and five other communitie­s under the economical­ly backward persons (EBP) category.”

Malik said the AIJASS will also organise a ‘Bhaichara’ rally in Jhajjar on August 27, wherein Jat leaders from different states will gather to “remind the state leadership of its commitment­s.”

On September 13, the AIJASS will hold a ‘Balidan Diwas’ in Mayyar village of Hisar district in the memory of Jat youth Sunil Sheoran who was killed in police firing during a Jat protest on September 13, 2010, he added.

‘BJP MUST ASK MP SAINI TO RESIGN’

Meanwhile, Malik criticised BJP MP from Kurukshetr­a Raj Kumar Saini for allegedly making repeated statements agains the Jat community.

“Raj Kumar Saini is continuosl­y making derogatory remarks against the Jat community and the BJP government in Haryana must ask for his resignatio­n,” he said.
