Ludhiana lawyer’s death: Kin block NH-1

LUDHIANA: The family and relatives of a sales tax advocate, Vikas Pathak, 37, found handing from the ceiling at his office in Overlock Road, Miller Ganj, on Friday evening blocked traffic at Tajpur Chowk on the national highway 1 for two hours on Saturday, after they noticed bruises on the body at the cremation ground. Hundreds of commute rs were stuck in the long jam that resulted.

The kin created a ruckus at the cremation ground as well, claiming that his assistant Neetu had killed her. Incidental­ly, she was the one who saw the body first and had informed the police.

The blockade was lifted after ADCP-1 Rattan Singh Brar reached the spot and pacified the protesters. He assured the protesters that the another autopsy of the body will be done on Sunday.
