1978, Telugu, directed by Singeetam Srininavasa Rao
This was the first time I worked with Singeetam saab. We continued to do films for many years. Each film we did was remembered. It had subdued humour which was very new to Telugu cinema. It had a Wodehousian kind of humour. It came much before Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983). It was not over the top like Padosan (1968). Everyone was trying to be serious but everyone made you laugh. It became a big hit. t was like a big, satisfying dessert.
