Man abducted, robbed after he takes lift from cab driver

GURGAON: Taking a lift from an unknown cab driver from Shankar Chowk ended in the man being abducted and robbed in the Udyog Vihar area on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Tarun Nagpal, an assistant manager at a firm in Udyog Vihar.

The accused allegedly thrashed Nagpal, snatched his purse, mobile phone, gold chain and three ATM cards before dumping him near a temple.

He victim had to borrow a phone from a passerby to contact his relatives and the police.

A case under sections 342 and 379B of the IPC has been registered at the Udyog Vihar police station.

As per the complaint lodged by Nagpal, he was waiting for a cab at Atlas Chowk on Wednesday to go to his home in Gulabi bagh, Delhi. After some time, a white Hyundai Verna stopped near him and Nagpal asked the driver whether he was going to Karol Bagh.
