POLICE RESCUE ABDUCTED MAN, THREE HELD

HOSHIARPUR: District police have rescued a man within hours of his abduction and arrested accused who had sought a ransom of ₹5 lakh. Police received a complaint from Amik Chand of Kingra on August 13. His brother-in-law Santokh Singh has been kidnapped from Harta village by unknown persons. SSP J Elanchezhian said the area was cordoned and a manhunt was launched. Finding no way to escape, the abductors dropped Santokh in Sarhala Kalan but were arrested from near Panjora. The accused are Kamaljit Singh of Bhana, Kuldip Singh of Khera and Jaspreet Singh of Makhsoospur. 300gm heroin was recovered. A case was registered under Section 364 of IPC and NDPS Act.
