Padma Shri Bhakti Yadav passes away

INDORE : Padma Shri awardee nonagenarian gynaecologist Bhakti Yadav, fondly called Doctor Didi, passed away on Monday. She was 91. Dr Yadav was suffering from osteoporosis and other age-related ailments. Over the past few months, she was continuously losing weight, her son Raman said. She is said to have treated over one lakh women patients free of cost and also offered free medicine to poor patients. She was the only girl in the 1948-1953 batch of MBBS in Indore’s Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College.
