Child born in erickshaw as hospital kicks woman out

SAHARANPUR: A pregnant woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur was allegedly asked by the hospital staff to leave in the middle of the night, following which she delivered the child, a boy, in an e-rickshaw, police said. Munawar was admitted to the district women’s hospital on August 14, but was later asked to leave without being examined, SP Saharanpur (rural) Vidya Sagar Mishra said. She gave birth to her child when her husband was taking her to another hospital in an e-rickshaw. He has lodged a police complaint seeking action against the hospital, the SP said.
