DOCS THREATEN TO STALL HEALTH SERVICES FROM SEPT 14

-

ROHTAK: Doctors in Haryana on Sunday threatened to shutdown all health services from September 14 if their demands are not met by the state government by then.

At the general body meeting of the Ha ryan a Civil Medical Services Association( HCMSA) in Rohtak, in which around 500 doctors from the state participated, the doctors said the government is not serious about providing quality healthcare to the public.

The association said the state is facing an acute shortage of specialist doctors and demanded special incentives to attract them to service. “The government had accepted this demand last year. But it is yet to fulfil it,” HCMSA president Dr Jasbir Parmar said.

“We will go on a pen-down strike for two hours on September 11 and will shut out-patient department (OPD) services on September 13, if the demands are not fulfilled, the association chief said. He added, “If government does not wake up even then, we will be forced to observe complete shutdown from September 14. Only the government will be responsible for it.”

He said due to faulty policies of the state government, not even a single in-house doctor from Haryan a could get benefit in National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) examination, resulting in loss of PG seats. The association also demanded time-bound promotions after every 10 years.

“In spite of strong political commitment, bureaucratic hurdles are not letting these issues resolved,” Parmar said. HTC

We will ensure a complete shutdown of services if our demands are not met by the state government by Sept 14 . DR JASBIR PARMAR, HCMSA president
