Minor rape victim to resume studies

ACCUSED WAS LIVING AS A TENANT AT THE VICTIM’S HOUSE; HAD ALLEGEDLY RAPED HER FOR MONTHS

JALANDHAR :A14-year-old-girl-who was raped and suffered a mis carriage will resume her studies from Monday.

The victim is said to be recuperati­ng from the trauma, since the case was reported.

Commenting over the media reports claiming that the victim was five-month pregnant, her mother said that the news was wrong and she was two- month pregnant.

The victim’s mother said on August 10 her daughter was taken for the medical examinatio­n. As per informatio­n available, the victim after coming from hospital reportedly fainted due to fatigue, in the bathroom at home, and suffered miscarriag­e, for which she was treated later on. “She has started taking meals properly and also interacts with us,” the mother said.

She said that her daughter will join the new class at school from Monday.The victim’s mother hoped that the new chapter will help her to forget the miserable part of her life.

ADCP D Sudarvizhi said that the victim’ s family had informed about miscarriag­e to the police.

The cops had further inti- mated the child welfare committee( CWC) officials about the rape victim .

Sections of POCSO Act, 2012 were also filed against the accused along with rape charges.

The family belongs to Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh (UP ). The accused Sud a rs han ,45, was living as a tenant at the victim’s house and was arrested on the same day.

The accused had been allegedly raping the victim for last few months, threatenin­g her of dire consequenc­es if she reveals anything about the incident to anybody. Presently the accused is in judicial custody.

Last week, a 14-year-old hearing and speech impaired pregnant girl, who was also allegedly raped by her neighbour at Kang Sa bu delivered a premature baby girl at Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Civil Hospital. HTC
