Five arrested for sex determinat­ion

GURGAON: A team from health department in Gurgaon has unraveled an alleged sex determinat­ion rack et that was spread from Haryanato Uttarakhan­d. A case has been registered under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) act against five persons who allegedly took pregnant women from Haryanato Uttarakhan­d for conducting sex determinat­ion tests.

The accused have been identi- fied as Dr Vikas Tomar, Abdul Sal ar, and San jay, Dr Beau la wife of AK Singh of Ms Chouhan hospital, Pataudi.

As per the health department, a decoy customer was sent to a hospital after CMO, Rohtak, got informatio­n regarding sex determinat­ion tests. A pregnant woman approached the Chou han hospital in Pataudi, and she asked for sex determinat­ion to be conducted and a deal was struck for ₹30,000. HTC
