3-member panel visits gurdwara

GURDASPUR: The parallel Akal Takht jathedar Dhian Singh Mand formed three-member committee visited the Gurdwara Chhota Ghallughar­a at Kahnuwan Chhamb, 14km from here, on Wednesday.

The panel reviewed all the incidents that took place at the gurdwara during the last 12 twelve days.

The committee comprises of SGPC member from Dhuri Surjit Singh Kala Bola, SGPC member from Gurdaspur Surjit Singh Tughalwala and executive committee member of Haryana Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Baba Pardeep Singh. The committee will submit its report to Dhian Singh Mand.

Meanwhile the gurdwara trust head Master Johar Singh clarified that he will not com- ply with the diktats of Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh. The jathedar had asked the gurdwara committee to appear in front of the Akal Takhtin Amritsar before August 28. At the request of former Akali ministers Sewa Singh Sekhwan and Sucha Singh Langah and Aam Aadmi Party Majha zone president Kanwalpree­t Singh Kaki, jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh had visited the gurdwara to instruct the management to appear at Akal Takht.

Sekhwan, Langah and Kaki with their supporters had started a series of ‘akhand paaths’ at the gurdwara on August 12,the bhog of which was performed on Sunday.

These leaders wanted to oust the existing management committee ofthe gurdwara and bring the gurdwara under the control of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee.
