COPS CRACK BLIND MURDER CASE, ARREST 1

AMRITSAR: In a breakthrou­gh, Amritsar (rural) police claimed to have cracked a blind murder case by arresting one.

A bus driver, Gurwinder Singh, was shot down by unidentifi­ed suspect sin a road rage incident on the local Fat eh ga rh Ch urian last month.

Senior superinten­dent of police (SSP) (rural) Parampal Singh said that the police teams worked in a scientific manner and succeeded in identifyin­g the suspects. The SSP said, “The accused are Si kan der Singh, Bhupinder Sing hand So han L al. Si kan der Singh has been nabbed under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) while the other two are still absconding.”

SS PP a ramp al Singh said that on July 22, the bus driver was shot down by unidentifi­ed carborne suspects after a tussle over not getting the road passage.

As the suspects got irritated for not getting passage, they took the car ahead and stopped the bus. When the bus driver jumped out ,the suspects shot him down. The driver later succumbed to his injuries in hospital the next day.

The bus belonged to a firm owned by family of former Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker and senior A kali leader Ni rm al Singh Kahlon. The SSP said, “It was totally a blind case but the police worked tirelessly to identify the suspects. We have nabbed one person. Efforts are on to arrest others as well.” HTC
