-

Markfed, in consultation with Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), has developed a new product which will provide the required nutrition to calves aged 0-6 months.

It was launched in the company’s cattlefeed segment by chairperson, Markfed, Amarjit Singh Samra, and managing director, Markfed, Arshdeep Singh Thind, IAS.

Samra, while speaking on the occasion, said that the future of dairy is always dependent on calves and hence special attention is required for their upbringing.

Thind, meanwhile, emphasised that the initial three months after the birth of a calf are very sensitive as lot of deaths happen in this peri- od, and giving this feed helps develops a healthy animal.

B.M Shar ma, executive director, Markfed, assured that the special feed developed by Markfed is free from toxins and urea and is full of required nutrients.

He further said the feed will be available at lower rates than the popular products in the market and is being made available to all dealers and co-operative societies of the state.

Rajbir Singh Chinna, general manager, Markfed, Kapurthala, added that the launch of this product was shared with Markfed field officers during the field meeting and during farmer camps.

Receiving an encouraging response motivated Markfed to launch it.
