DERA CASE Added as accused in FIR that carries charges of sedition and conspiracy for violence in Panchkula on day of conviction

CHANDIGARH/PANCHKULA: On the run since August 25, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s confidante Honey p re et In san tops Ha ryan a Police’s list of 43 persons wanted for the violence in Panchkula after the Dera Sacha Sauda chief’s arrest for raping two followers.

She was formally booked in Panchkulao­n Monday. “We have included her name in FIR no 345 as an accused,” said Panchkula police commission­er AS Chaw la. That FIR carries charges of sedition and criminal conspiracy, and names der a function aries Ad it ya Insan and Surender Dhiman Insan, among others, for inciting violence following conviction of the dera chief by a CBI court.

D him an was the first to name her, at which the police issued a lookout notice on August 28. Chawla denied reports that she fled to Nepal. “We are looking for her within India,” he said.

Also at large is Aditya, the doctor-turned-follower and dera spokespers­on.

Honeypreet is untraced ever since she accompanie­d the dera head when the Haryana government flew him ina chopper from the Pan ch ku la CBI court to Rohtak’s Sun aria prison .“The identity of those giving informatio­n will be kept secret ,” Ch aw las aid.

Photos of the 43 accused have been uploaded on the police web- site. Honeypreet is the only woman on the wanted list. Most of the other accused are young men and some of them can be seen carrying sticks. Police requested the public and media to share videos or photos of the violence.

The Haryana Police are gathering details of their whereabout­s after interrogat­ing Pradeep Goyal, who was arrested in Udaipur. Goy al headed the der a’ s local unit and was in touch with Honeypreet.

Besides Goyal, the Haryana Police arrested the dera chief’s aide and spokespers­on, Dilawar In san, from Sonepat on September 15. Pr aka sh, alias Vicky, who is the brother-in-law of Aditya In san, was arrested from Mo hali on Sunday, Panchkula’s deputy commission­er of police Manbir Singh had said. Chawla said police need to question Honeypreet on Dhiman’s disclosure­s.

SCHOOLS AT DERA RE OPEN AFTER 25 DAYS

All school, colleges and education institutes at the Dera Sacha Sauda opened after 25 days on Monday. More than 6,000 students are enroled in these institutio­ns.
