CHANDIGARH: Vishwas Gupta, former husband of Honeypreet — a close aide of rape convict DeraSachaSaudachiefGurmeet Ram Rahim Singh — on Friday said that the sect head organised a Big Boss like show inside the dera headquarters at Sirsa in 2009.

The show had Baba’s son Jasmit and his wife; daughters and their husbands; Gupta and his then wife Honeypreet and two other couples.

“For breaking rules inside the ‘Big Boss’ house, he used to penalise us by asking us to recite naam for ten minutes for the first mistake and the “penalty” time doubled after every subsequent mistake. Honeypreet committed so many mistakes that her penalty ran into many days. And everyone in the house including Baba’s son Jasmit and two daughters got suspicious about baba and Honpeypreet as the room in which ‘naam’ was to be recited had a door that opened into baba’s gufa,” said Gupta.

After four weeks, the game came to an end and Baba announced that he would adopt Honeypreet as his daughter. “But Honeypreet continued to stay with Baba and all his family knew of the illicit relation betweenthem, butnooneopened up out of baba’s fear,” he said.

Gupta said he was booked under false cases of cheque bounce, dowry and criminal def- amation, after he made public the illicit relations between Hon- eypreet and Ram Rahim in 2009 when he saw them in a compro- mising position in a hotel room. He said Honeypreet gave him divorce after he sought forgiveness from the dera chief.

Vishwas said the sect head gave someone ‘supari’ (contract) to get him eliminated inside Patiala jail when he was lodged there during judicial custody in connection with the “false” cheque-bounce case.

“A jail officer handed over Rs 10 lakh to an inmate to get me eliminated, but Balwant Singh Rajoana (convicted in the Beant Singh assassination case) who was also in the same jail, then savedmeandbroughtthematter to the jail superintendent.
