De-addiction: Docs to undergo training
CHANDIGARH : Health minister Br ah mM oh ind ra said to provide standardised treatment facilities to drug addicts, the department has started a three-month training for more than 50 general duty medical officers deputed at de-addiction and rehabilitation centres across the state.
After completing the training under provisions of the Punjab substance use disorder treatment and counselling and rehabilitation centres rules, 2011, medical officers will be capable of handling indoor patients at de-addiction centres under the supervision of a psychiatrist.
To cater to outdoor patients, training is being imparted Government MedicalCollege, Amritsar, by department of psychiatry in collaboration with Punjab State AIDS Control Society, said the minister.
